Created to give back to the place that gave so much to us.
Bismarck natives and twin brothers Terry and Troy Steiner grew up in North Dakota’s wrestling community, competing at Century High School before continuing their careers at the University of Iowa, where each became an NCAA national champion.
Their success took them around the country and the world as athletes, coaches and mentors. Through it all, their North Dakota roots and the people who helped shape them have remained an important part of their story.
In 2026, Terry and Troy were named recipients of North Dakota’s Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award, the state’s highest commendation. With that honor came a desire to use their platform to give back and serve the next generation of North Dakotans.
They know many young people have talent, potential and dreams, but not always the resources, mentorship, experiences or opportunities to pursue them. The Steiner Roughrider Foundation was created to help close that gap, providing opportunities through sport that build character, inspire leadership and help young people prosper in life.
